Our Leadership

Pastor Doran has been the senior pastor at Inter-City Baptist Church since 1989. He leads through sound biblical preaching and teaching both in the church and at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Claudia, have four sons: David (wife, Abi), Daniel (wife, Melissa), Dillon (wife, Emily), and Derek (wife, Jen).

As associate pastor of discipleship, Ben is responsible for leading the church in its commitment to the spiritual health of the congregation and in its efforts to bring believers into full maturity and fruitful ministry. He oversees the instructional ministry of the church, seminary, and Bible Institute. He has been on staff since 2008. He and his wife, Jo, have three sons, Ethan, Rhys, and Zeke.

Jacob is an associate pastor who oversees the discipleship ministries. He is responsible for leading the church in developing a culture of mutual care. He does this by equipping members to live skillfully for God’s glory and by seeking to effectively minister the Word of God. Jacob has been on staff at Inter-City since 2017. He and his wife, Jennifer, have three children: Jonathan (wife, Anne), Julia, and Josie.

As an associate pastor, Tracy leads Inter-City in its commitment to fellowship. Biblical preaching and teaching comprise the focus of his ministry, including personal discipleship and pastoral care for church members. Tracy and his wife, Marcia, met and grew up at Inter-City. They have three children: Danielle, Brady, and Luke.

Phil serves as the assistant to Pastor Doran. Phil has been on staff at Inter-City since January 2017. He and his wife, Emily, have been married since June 2019 and have two daughters.

Riley serves as the Director of Youth Ministries at ICBC, coordinating the nursery, children, and youth ministries. Additionally, he coordinates the Spread the Word internship program. Riley first served at Inter-City as seasonal staff in 2019 and has been full-time since 2021.

One of Ben’s primary responsibilities is to assist Pastor Doran in leading our church’s corporate worship. Ben plans and helps to lead the services and oversees the church’s music program. He has been on staff since October 2001. He and his wife, Wendy, have one son, Cade.
